Who is Hannes Enslin?

Hannes Enslin is a South African born in 1966.  After finishing school he attended the the Rand Afrikaans University (Now called University Johannesburg).

He completed his Bachelors with Biblical Studies & Theology as majors and Greek & Hebrew & Psychology as extra subjects in 1987.

Hannes then attended Seminary at the University of Pretoria and completed the BD in 1991.

He subsequently completed his compulsory military service in 1992 at the Witwatersrand Medical Command as the Chaplain.

The situation was then that he was at this time also serving in a local Church in one of the suburbs of Johannesburg.  During this time at Roodepoort Hannes had an opportunity to participate in an outreach to the Ukraine.  It was a life changing event.  This continued until he received his first calling to a church as an ordained pastor – This was to the church in Pongola (Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal).  The ministry there was from 1994 just after the first free elections in South Africa.  In 1995 another opportunity to participate on an outreach to Ukraine developed and Elmarie joined Hannes on this yet another life changing trip.

The ministry in Pongola kept them busy until the end of 2000 when Hannes received a call to Silverton in Pretoria.

At this time he became involved with Harvesters Ministries on a part time basis mainly using his leave to manage the pastors being trained in the early stages of the ministry’s work in Zambia, Malawi & Mozambique.  In 2005 the opportunity was created for him to join Harvesters on a Full time basis and the focus was on the training – at some stage in 2006 there were around 1000 pastors in training in the 3 countries.

By the end of 2007 it was the start of the worldwide financial crisis of 2008 and sponsors had to withdraw due to the problems they faced.

As he had his Private pilots license Hannes then completed the requirements to obtain his Commercial Pilots License.  He flew as a free lance charter pilot for some time but the remuneration was not enough to make a living.

Hannes all the while kept going on a temporary basis with Harvesters till about 2009 but the pressure was just not working and he accepted work in an Agricultural company as a project manager.  This brought stability and he was always keeping in touch with Harvesters and the work the Lord has done in and through them.

In 2017 there were again major turmoil in the business Hannes was involved in and he eventually accepted a severance package and in the process the opportunity arose for him to become involved with Harvesters again.  At first it was part time and it was in this time that Hannes and Steven discussed the future of the training and the existence of Gateway Theological Seminary.

The process of creating and developing an internet based system was put in motion and in 2019 it became possible for Hannes to be the architect of the dream Steven had to create the Training App that Harvesters Ministries started using in the ministry since the beginning of 2020.

The App is very unique to the specific model Harvesters are using.

Hannes is therefore back in full time ministry and also serves as a video producer of the video broadcast of services in the church he currently attends.

Hannes has done several ministry specific software developments for Harvesters ministries as well.
